Hot Rods and Lowriders

Traditional lowriders were done up from the 60’s cars like the Chevy Impala, Buick Regal, Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Lincoln Continentals etc. Sometimes they were drastically modified, reducing them to pure show cars.

In addition to modified suspensions that made them ride very low, there are many other things that went into lowriders, like gold plating, impressive paint schemes, spot lights, twin side pipes and wire wheels.

Many hot rods have a great deal of chrome parts. Their wheels and tires are changed for improved traction. Reduction of weight of the vehicle when modifying vintage cars into hot rods was achieved by removing body parts. That is the reason why many hot rods do not have roofs, hoods and bumpers.
