Forget the hurricanes, forget the crime rate; note that New Orleans is one of the top ten most visited cities in the US. Why do you think? If you don’t already know, restaurants New Orleans, are world famous for their food. Cuisines are influenced by the French, Italian, Spanish, Native American, African and local Creole. Quite exhaustive isn’t it? It’s finally a hodge-podge of a distinct local essence that’s immensely palatable.

Lookout for local delights like beignets, French doughnuts, Italian Muffaletta sandwiches, unique Creole dishes and red beans and rice, when you visit the best restaurants New Orleans. Also don’t leave the city without trying their oh-so-mouthwatering Pralines. They must be the most sinful things in New Orleans. If you’re looking out for specific joints, you’ve got Palace Café and Jonhny’s PO- Boys for seafood, Clancy’s Restaurant, Galatoire’s Restaurant and Mr B’s Bistro for French and Creole, and Fiorella's Café for the best and cheapest fried chicken.

This is just a miniscule representation of the cuisine selection you get here. There’s no trouble finding ample Italian, American or Spanish food either. Just pay a visit to this Crescent City and you’d know.

Hot Rod and it's Family!

Hot Rods have become an important part of the American culture since they first arrived on the scene in the 30's and 40's. Later on these pimped cars went on to rule the roost of customised automotive world and there was no looking back! Many other forms were shaped up or developed from this basic idea of hot rods, like rat rods and street rods.

Rat Rods were generally considered as the siblings of hot rods, which were not as good looking as it's parents! These were really built to look ugly and take quirly shapes! Even though they look ugly, for most of them, they are the most popular concepts going these days next to lowriders. They are built, just for pure fun where the engine performances are tuned up along with other features keeping the bare costs to minimum. These are also considered as a piece of art by many car enthusiasts and they even represent one's creation and status.

Street Rods are pretty much the same as Hot Rods, but they can be driven on streets along with your whole family; hence the name. As hot rods were developed mainly keeping races in mind, street rods were totally different. Street Rods were more family oriented and more safety precautions were taken into consideration compared to the powerful and menancing Hot Rods.

BMW Motorcycles' – A Brief Introduction!

BMW today is widely recognized with the word 'cars', of the finest quality, build and luxury. But, very few people, say hard core bike and auto ethusiasts know that BMW came into existence initially by producing air craft engines! Later it also went a step ahead and introduced it's first motorcycle, R32, in 1923. And the rest is history!

BMW Motorcycles became so popular after their introduction that even some established bike vendors, like Honda, had to rethink their strategy, which led to the uprise of legendary 'Gold Wing'! Well, that's a story to be told apart! BMW literally revolutionised the world of motorcycles in the 70's letting loose their mean machines R90S and R100RS. Later on, many BMW models rolled out from their closet raising the bar and setting new standards, each time a new model was out.

However, the icing on the cake was yet to come! And with the release of R1200GS, BMW achieved record sales and very good business performance in the year 2007. R1200GS went on to become one of the most popular bmw models to have ever been produced! Joining this list later were BMW R 1200 RT and K 1200 LT. Every year BMW displays it's after market accessories and tuner parts at the most raunchy and spicy sema show. Right now, folks at BMW are busy in developing their new BMW S1000RR for the next Superbike World Championship season. March on guys, the whole world is watching!

No Complaints about Food in Nashville

Nashville, a city best known for its inclinations in country music and a tremendous healthcare system, now adds publishing, banking and transportation to an ever-growing impressive list. Quite a diverse set of talents reside here. If you’re tempted to migrate to this flourishing city, you’ll probably appreciate some insight into the best restaurants Nashville.

Demos’ Steak and Spaghetti House is perched on top. There are some more all- American joints up there. Park Café, Ellendales and Ted’s Montana Grill are three of them. Ellendales has quite an old world charm to it, since it’s a fine-looking house that’s converted into a restaurant. It’s absolutely the right trick to make customers feel at home. There’s one Italian joint among the high-ranking Nashville restaurants; Maggiano’s Little Italy has some delectable gnocchi and tangy pastas. That’s a magnetic pull for pasta lovers.

The verdict is that, if you’re looking to explore Nashville’s culinary proficiency, you’ll really have no complaints. The people here have made it a habit to perfect every art they’ve tried their hand at.

Fort Collins- Food in Abundance

One really great choice you can make for a holiday is to visit Fort Collins. It was after all, voted the ‘Best Place to Live’ in 2006 by Money magazine. So migration is out of question, but a small trip is not, is it? And you absolutely don’t have to bother about how you’ll keep your gastronomic demands satisfied. Fort Collins restaurants definitely won’t disappoint you. Surely, cannot expect any less from a city that became the lamb feeding capital of the world, along with a massive sugar processing plant.

From burritos to canapés to seafood, you definitely wouldn’t be starved for choice. You’ll find almost every popular cuisine of the world. If you love Italian, you’re in luck! Sweet Basilico Café- The best restaurant in Fort Collins is an Italian one. The Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant is running close on its heels and banks on its amazing margaritas to do the trick. Big City Burrito and Ed’s Cantina are couple of other Mexican joints making brisk business. But hardcore American food seems to be the core preference here. You certainly won’t find it tough to get some steak, barbecue or just plain cheesy American pizzas.

With the Colorado’s University being the state’s biggest money grosser, you’ll probably find the city teeming with students. The restaurant owners are challenged to keep their young patrons contented; and by the looks of the crowd that’s bustling in most, they are doing a pretty good job. Clearly, food is not a worry here. So you could start planning on your trip to check out what made Fort Collins topple other cities to become the best.

Beckham, Ronaldo, Rio Ferdinand, Michael Ballack, Carlos Valderrama, Edger Davis, Roberto Baggio, Rudd Gullit, and Alex Song are not only famous for their football fervor, but also for their distinctive hair-dos. Debut of "Making Green Cool Zone" at the 2008 SEMA Show

Recognizing the specialty-equipment industry’s commitment to green vehicle products and solutions, SEMA has announced plans to showcase those companies whose involvement in green technologies prove that being environmentally friendly can also be cool. The Making Green Cool Zone will be featured inside the South Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Centre, Nov 4-7, 2008.

Products, project vehicles and technologies to be featured in the Making Green Cool Zone can be from either exhibiting SEMA-member companies or non-exhibiting companies. The winners will be selected by a panel of experts drawn from relevant automotive fields.

The SEMA industry recognizes that being green extends beyond specific segments of the market. Going green seems to be no longer an option; about 85% of Americans consider themselves environmentalists according to what John Waraniak, SEMA’s vice president of vehicle technology stated.

Greening-up vehicles offer new and exciting business opportunities for SEMA members and the specialty-equipment industry. A lot of green vehicle technologies will be discussed at the SEMA Vehicle Technology Briefing Seminar: “Clean Diesels, Wild Hybrids and Muscle Electrics” to be held on November 5th at the SEMA Show.

Food and Coffee at Seattle

There are some things that the residents of Seattle can’t do without. Coffee is one of them, and great food is another. While they take great pride in the Starbucks chain starting from their domain, there are quite a number of restaurants that are up there in their list of favorites. Dining at a Seattle restaurant is as much a pleasure as sipping a hot cuppa at Starbucks.

You’ll see an eclectic mix of cuisines figuring in the top picks of Seattle food joints. It’s quite an indication of the city’s love for variety. The 58-year-old Canlis Restaurant gives every new restaurant a stiff competition in terms of quality and service. It’s been there ever since anyone can remember. Probably, it’s only next to Starbucks in being synonymous with the city.

Among the best Seattle Restaurants, you’ll spot couple of sushi joints, a Korean restaurant, more than a handful of inexpensive American steak places, seafood, and the exclusive tapas plates of savory Spanish dishes at Tango. Not a bad array for a city that’s just known for its coffee, and being the ‘Gateway to Alaska’. If you decide to venture on an Alaskan cruise, stop by at Seattle’s famous food joints. There’s no better way to start a holiday.

Mesa- The Food Oasis in a Desert

Arizona has taken over Nevada as the fastest growing state in terms of population. It must have quite a number of bellies to feed then. However, some of its major cities seem quite well equipped to do that. Take a look at Mesa, its third largest city; it exudes an assortment of eating joints for hungry citizens and exhausted travelers. The heat must be pushing most travelers into Mesa restaurants invariably.

If you’re a stickler for pizzas to gulp down with chilled beer, drop into Nello’s Pizza. Locals claim they have the best pizzas you’d find in the whole of Arizona. You’ll also find some good tummy fillers like steak and chicken wings at the Texas Roadhouse, Eggington’s TC and Blue Adobe Grille. But Siam Orchid has been rated as the best restaurant in Mesa. It’s a Thai place; and who doesn’t love Thai? You’ll find some great restaurants serving sushi and the neighborhood specialty Mexican too.

While you’re braving the hot breeze and dry deserts of Arizona, halt at Mesa for some much-needed refreshments.

Restaurants of Davie

Davie is one of the famous towns of Florida, which is the fourth most populous states of United States. Though originally known as Zona the town got its current name after a developer, Randolph P. Davie. The town of Davie is quite popular because of its ‘western’ touch in everything, which makes it different from other towns of Florida. 50's Hot Rods

The Hotrods of the 50' were power cars. They were big and bold and more powerful than most cars today. In those times, gasoline was something that was very affordable, priced at around 25 cents a gallon. The fact that hotrods of those times were gas guzzlers did bother people much.

Some of the well known hotrods of the fifties were the 1954 Dodge and the 1958 Plymouth Fury. The Chevy and Ford came out with their replies to the hotrods. The Chevy Nomad was one of the most popular cars of the fifties. The Skyliner and the Fairlane were both big, had a sports car look and were equipped with large powerful engines.

Many major car makers had their own version of the 50's hot rods. All of them attained a loyal following that lasts even today, with every classic car fan desiring for a 50's car.

The V8 petrol engine in the BMW X5 xDrive 48i churns out 355 HP and is capable of accelerating the vehicle from 0-100 km/h in just 6.5 sec.

There is a piece of advice for the owners. If you are planning to get your car washed by car wash babes at a car wash centre, make sure you clearly instruct them to use the appropriate quality materials, to ensure that there is no damage done to the painting.

Dock into Newark’s Best Restaurants

New York, New Jersey and Newark, is the cosmopolitan trinity of America. We really don’t see such a multi-ethnic populace anywhere else in this country. Newark, being just five miles away from Manhattan, is as active, if not more. Being one of the major port towns of the East, there is no dearth of immigrants or temporary travelers. In such a scenario, the hotel and restaurant industry is pressurized to meet so many hungry demands, which they do with great aplomb.

One look at the top restaurants here, and you’d realize that Latino food is the local favorite. Spanish restaurants, Newark, visibly dominate the scene here. Don Pepe Restaurant & Caterers, Forno’s of Spain Restaurant and Iberia Peninsula Restaurant, are three of the best in Spanish cuisine. Few have the Mexican and Portuguese variations as well.

The Post House however, serves some of the best breakfast in Newark. You can keep the Spanish cuisine for the next meal, but don’t miss your breakfast at The Post House. If you fancy an Oriental restaurant in Newark, check out the bliss of Soya sauce and noodles at Amin’s Fongyip Chinese Muslim Restaurant, Wok Roll or Jade Garden Chinese Food. Staunch pizza lovers always have Dickie Dee’s Pizza, Napoli Pizzeria & Restaurant and 2 Brother’s Pizzeria & Restaurant to bank on. Their patrons seem to be pretty happy with the food and service.

Be it Spanish, Chinese or just plain American, it doesn’t take much to see that food is in abundance here. So which one of these is your choice sailor?

Bite into Coney Dogs in Detroit

Have you just landed up in Detroit for their latest auto show, or to get yourself a mean machine you’ve lusted after? Then you’ll also be in pursuit of good belly fillers that could put you up to the task. You definitely have the guarantee that you won’t leave disappointed with their food selection either. The city that’s home to Kid Rock and Eminem, also harbors more than its share of eclectic cuisines and an impressive selection of restaurants.

The Lafayette Coney Island should be the first restaurant in Detroit you try out. It serves the city’s unique hotdog, aka Coney Dog. May have very well been named after the place that started it. It’s an appetizing combination of raw onions, chili and mustard sauce. The American Coney Island probably has equally good Coney Dogs. Don’t miss them out no matter what; after all, you really haven’t eaten in Detroit if you haven’t eaten their Coney Dogs.

Quite a few Detroit Restaurants serve scrumptious pizzas. The square deep dish version here is only next to the hotdog in popularity. Drop in to Buddy’s to try theirs; they serve the best of its kind. If you just want good ol’ American burgers or chicken wings, visit one of these- Sweetwater Tavern, The Woodward and Union Street Restaurant.

Apart from these, Detroit also has a good bit of popular Italian, Mexican and Seafood cuisines, it can bashfully brag of. Your automobile trip will definitely not leave you starving for more.

Dig into Belle‘View’ and its Eclectic Food

Bellevue- sounds quite like Belle View, which means ‘a beautiful view’. Does it really signify that? We wouldn’t know, and even if it doesn’t, it’s utterly apt for the pretty city. Cocooned in the suburb of Seattle, Bellevue has some delightful eateries to hop into for a sizzling grub, especially during freezing winters.

Sushi/ Japanese seem to be the city’s favorite, since popular Sushi spots grab the limelight in some of the finest Bellevue restaurants. I Love Sushi and Sushi Land Marinepolis are couple of them. You’ll get some piping hot curries and herbed bread at exotic looking Indian restaurants like Mayuri Indian Cuisine, Moghul Palace India Cuisine and Chutneys.

It’s Dixie’s BBQ that’s however been rated as the best restaurant in Bellevue. No guesses about what it specializes in. It appears to be unsurpassed in its league really. You don’t spot another barbecue joint among the top ranking restaurants. Bellevue chefs also appear to entice people with seafood. It’s obvious that the locals love the seafood here. Tap House Grill and Seastar Restaurant and Raw Bar are must for seafood lovers.

A patriot can head towards all-American joints like Joey’s Restaurant, Cheesecake Factory the, and Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. Nothing like a steak to give you the sense of fulfillment; is there? As for Bellevue breakfast, it must be had at Chace’s Pancake Corral. Those warm pancakes with maple syrup just melt in your mouth. If you don’t fancy a sweet breakfast, taste the omelets at Denny’s. It is complete protein-filled breakfast for you, with as many variations as you can conceive of.

You say too many places to try out? But really, no one wants to rush out of Bellevue, especially during the annual crafts exhibition, and more so, with pleading kids asking to go to the humongous doll showroom.

A Style Statement - Hot Rods

Customizing vintage cars seems to have taken a new outlook as more proud owners refuse to recycle but restate their attitudes with hot rods and lowriders. The cars of the 60’s and 50’s have their own charm and coupled with some customizations, they become hot and raging among youth.

Customized cars stand for personal style statements and affordability. Hot rods are custom cars that are usually painted with flames and redesigned to give that superior look of the bold and beautiful. They are typical American cars that are redesigned with superior high performance engines. They are a perfect combination of the past style and current technology. If it is style, attitude and youth, it can always be a Hot Rod! Check out the hot rod pictures and there are not many words left in admiration!
