Tips to Plan an Office Party

Planning an office party gives jitters to the most experienced party planners. Sometimes it's like walking on thin ice. You'll need to be quite careful while treading the delicate path without offending your boss. But if you can organize your life in all other aspects, it really shouldn't intimidate you much. It's a matter of pulling through with a good bit of confidence and studious planning. Get your organization tool ready and start jotting down the details that need to be looked into.

Start with the budget of the party. You'll need to get in touch with the finance section to get a ballpark figure initially. Try not to take liberties and overspend the budget. Once that's done, you can decide on the date in consent with your colleagues. It shouldn't be the busiest day of the week that will either lead to cancellations or a low attendance. The venue should be the next decision. Choose a location that isn't too expensive, too far or too small for the crowd.

You can then move on to deciding the menu and other activities to keep the crowd entertained. Bring in a live band if you can afford or just arrange for a good music system. It's quite important to rope in others for a discussion. People appreciate it when you seek their opinion. There will be more participation and that would make your job easier. Just make sure you send a reminder through emails when the day's closing in. Some people need that amidst their busy schedules and a forgetful memory.

Keep these tips in mind and your party's sure to rock.
